Adaptive technology is any object or system that is specifically designed for the purpose of increasing or maintaining the capabilities of people with disabilities.
Types of Adaptive Technologies
IOS Voice over
- VoiceOver is a gesture-based screen reader that lets you enjoy using iPhone even if you don’t see the screen.
- For people who have impaired hearing
- It can also be used if you don't have a disability.

Android Assistant Menu
- The Assistant menu enables you to operate your phone with one hand .
- It's for people if you want to navigate your phone using one hand or you have a dexterity issue.
- It helps so that your phone will display the assistant menu icon on your screen to let you easily access to a certain frequently used feature or action but you can also use it if you don't have a disability.

High Contrast Colour Scheme (Windows)
- It heightens the color contrast of text, windows borders and images on your screen, in order to make them more visible and easier to read and identify.
- For people who have an eye-sight disability.
- You could use it if you aren't visaully impaired.
Movie/TV Audio Descriptions
- Narration added to the soundtrack to describe important visual details that cannot be understood from the main soundtrack alone.
- For people who are blind, have low vision, or who are otherwise visually impaired.
- I don't think it could help with people who don't have a visual disability.
- It depends on the movie or Tv show if it has an audio description.
Adaptive Mouse
- The Adaptive Mouse provides access to on-board cursor speed control and an alarm to alert someone when you are having difficulty. The light touch keys easy to push, aswell as the tactile and auditory feedback.
- For people with Parkinson’s, Cerebral Palsy, arthritis, and other physical disabilities.
- If you have tremors it would also help but for people with no disabilities aregular mouse would work.

- With the TTY, the conversation is typed rather than spoken and direct communication is possible with anyone who has a similar device.
- For people have impaired hearing.
